Crossref
Crossref is a DOI registration agency.
The Crossref Books interest group has published a Best Practices guide to metadata depositing, which is available at: https://www.crossref.org/education/content-registration/content-types-intro/books-and-chapters/
As of August 2021, Crossref also supports ROR institutional affiliation medatata as part of their schema. Source: Crossref blog
Registering DOIs at the chapter level increases discoverability by providing a unique, persistent identifier for each part of a book. This allows for individual chapters to be cited, tracked, and linked to other content online, supporting discoverability, usage tracking, and reference linking between chapters and other scholarly works like articles. It also gives authors greater visibility and helps publishers track performance and manage content.
There are no accessibility sections associated with this metadata standard.
