Hi,
I've made a small change so that the key is returned instead of null if we're unable to get a value. This keeps the plugin more in line with how the t-function behaves in Rails and it's easy to see what translations you're missing.
I was unable to run the tests so I've not committed updated ones. Please update your README with how to run the tests. Adding a Gemfile would also be useful to get the tests running.
