I have created a icon-only taskbar for the bar. It updates its state when new widow is opened or closed. Additionally the focus is moved to the app when clicked on the app icon.
In readme there is a demo in Features.

All running apps are displayed when Ignis is started.
When new window/app is opened then an app icon is added to the tasklist.
When window/app is closed then an app icon is removed from tasklist.
When app icon is clicked then the focus is moved to given app window.

looks cool, but I think it's better to combine it with the pinned apps and place "dots" below the icon which should reflect the number of windows opened rather than displaying multiple icons of the same app

@linkfrg aye, I will implement it in the next iteration. In addition, I need to figure out how the icon click action should work.

Hmm, don't know how to implement it, but it would be good to have: on the icon click a "popup" window should reveal, which would contain something like "windows". Inside each window there are should be the app icon in the center and the app title at the bottom
