As many users are coming across the heroku but many of them are upgrading to PostgreSQL from MySQL so here is sample demo for connecting to database of PostgreSQL. Please pull this.
This example get PostgreSQL credentials from the
DATABASE_URLenvironment variable and phrase it and return string that can be used to connect to PostgreSQL server.. This is for new users of heroku.pg_connection_string_from_database_url()function will phrase URL.
