Basics

Searches are composed of a series of queries. Any query not preempted by a particular command will search the title of the cards. Any term can be surrounded by quotation marks to turn it into longer than one word. All searches are case insensitive.

Examples

f:modern t:creature

Cards legal in modern with the type creature

f:heirloom o:"destroy target creature" cmc=3 id:b

Cards legal in heirloom (custom format in a file called heirloom.txt) containing the complete term "destroy target creature" and cmc equal to 3 and with color identity of exactly black. Note that this will not find cards that say something like "destroy target nonblack creature," but it will find cards that say "destroy target creature with a -1/-1 counter on it."

f:legacy o:"cost {1} less" mancer

Format legacy, text "cost {1} less," which is cost one generic mana less, and name containing "mancer." Returns only Goblin Electromancer.

Commands

f:

Format search - searches legalities listed in the json (Modern, etc), as well as custom formats defined by text files in the format directory

o:

Text search - searches for matches in the rules text

t:

Type search - searches for types OR subtypes

s:

Printings search - search for cards with particular printing

id:

Identity search - searches for specific color identity. This can include multiple colors on one line (e.g. id:urg = blue red green). c will find colorless cards.

m:

Mana symbol search - will find cards that have the given mana symbols (e.g. c:ur). This almost finds cards with the given "color" in a magic rules sense, except cards like the pact cycle will be missed because they don't have the expected cost.

cmc=|>=|>|<=|<

Converted mana cost search - searches for cmcs with the given relation (e.g. cmc<=3)

power=|>=|>|<=|<

Power search - searches for power with the given relation

toughness=|>=|>|<=|<

Toughness search - searches for toughness with the given relation
