… changes made in nott_TTM_alignment up to the start of April. With this commit, I add the additions made to the script in April/May 2025. The improvements made to the loading of configuration parameters (see Kwinten's commits in July) are incorporated too for consistency.

New, up-to-date forked repo. I'll be working here and will pull changes from the forked repo onto the lab pc for testing.
