Proxy Examples

A proxy allows for for your webserver to run more than just Wiki Races. The official competition uses a proxy to allow wiki-races.interalliance.org on port 443 to redirect to port 8443 (HTTPS) on whatever server is used that year. An example Apache configuration for this setup is below.

Apache

<VirtualHost *:80>
        # Replace the server name with your domain.
        ServerName wiki-races.interalliance.org

        ServerAdmin webmaster@localhost
        ProxyPass / http://localhost:8443/
        ProxyPassReverse / http://localhost

        ErrorLog ${APACHE_LOG_DIR}/error.log
        CustomLog ${APACHE_LOG_DIR}/access.log combined
</VirtualHost>
