This important new release comes with the following changes

Sleex (main changes of this release):

• New widget system: AGS —> Quickshell
  • Using QT apps is now prefered over GTK apps.
  • Separated API dash page to make it a whole panel. Replacing the app launcher, which will be remade soon.
  • Fixed multiple reported bugs (AxOS-project/Sleex#17, AxOS-project/Sleex#21, #59, and other bugs reported on the discord server).
  • Added a settings app with shell customizations (colors, shown elements), behavior config, bluetooth. More modules will come by the time
  • Replaced temperature sensor indicator with swap usage as the temperature sensor is different depending on the brand, and it could leads to errors on some hardwares
  • Better animations (globally)
  • Added icons to the bar workspace module, can be replaced with dots or numbers from the settings app
  • bar datetime and sensors module are now drawers, that can be (permanently) closed and opened.
  • Replaced the old battery indicator with a new animated battery pill. Battery action ((un)plug, warnings...) now emit sounds, that can be disabled in the settings app.
  • The desktop clock widget is tinier but can be moved accross the background, independently supports light and dark mode.
  • The background system widget is replaced with a more discrete watermark, that can also be removed in the settings app.
  • The user module can now be edited (pfp and greetings message) from the settings app.
  • New github widget in the dashboard, shows the contributions calendar.
  • Weather widget UI remake.
  • Removed quick settings tab and Sleex update tab (which will be added to the settings app later) from the dashboard.
  • Todo list tab UI remake.
  • Improved fluidity and speed

Installer:

• Fixed reported errors (#62, #55 and other reported errors on discord and by email).
• Improved error handling, better error messages at precise points and no more fake success.
• Improved swap support.
• Accepting resizing and tiling mode
• Fixed the "open gparted" and "open terminal" buttons on the manual partition page

Misc

• axctl: Better Sleex user config handling, now knows which config files must be ignored, automatically changes the Sleex kb layout.according to the console layout.
• ISO:
  • Instead of 2 different ISOs, made 1 ISO with two boot modes (normal and NVIDIA).
  • Added a clear message for legacy boot users saying that AxOS isn't compatible with non-uefi hardwares.
• SDDM: changed the theme.

AxOS (especially Sleex) is not VM-friendly. We recommend using the ISO live environment for testing.

Even then, expect some graphical hiccups and performance mood swings. We recommend using HyperV or Qemu. A lot of bugs have been reported with Vbox and Vmware.

• Experimental NVIDIA support: It should work but I can't guarantee full stability

AxOS 24.11

This is one of the biggest AxOS release!

What's new ?

• Unified editions: You will be able to chose your edition (Plasma, Hypr and Calla (previously awesome)) before the installation thanks to the new custom-made installer.
• Kernel choice: You can now chose the kernel you want between Linux and Linux-zen. More kernels will be supported soon
• Calla takes the place of Awesome: Calla is a fast and minimalist desktop environment based on AwesomeWM. It is now safe to install
• The beta of Hypr edition will be available (note that is is currently unstable)
• A lot of new preinstalled apps will be included to the Plasma Edition.

As always, AxOS comes with bug fixes and stability improvements.
