Two views into same file not syncable

Particular problem: One large file of c++ code with two similar functions. I want to compare these functions. So I open a second view into the same file "File -> new view into file" and view boths windows side-by-side.

When i try to sync scrolling, just nothing happens.

Using:
Sublime 3.1.1 Build 3176
MacOS 10.14.3 Mojave
