GIF transparency issue

I've still got an issue where it looks like top-left transparency is being applied in addition to palette background color transparency.

That's exactly right.
I was going to build the palette from the Gif color table to eliminate the need to scan the entire image, but I completely failed.
I'm deleting the whole thing once and for all.
