I know that in the past, these patches were able to shave off ~20% from the time to run tests, but are there any recent benchmarks for using these with Ruby 3+?
What are the tradeoffs / why wouldn't these patches be rolled into Ruby itself?
Of course, I mean no offense. You've obviously contributed a lot to the Ruby community, and I'm mainly asking because a number of ruby installations have been including the patches by default for years, and I wonder if you think this is still a good idea for general use.
