Hmm. Might have answered my own question here. RPLCD 1.4.0 (current version) library doesn't support the STM SoC, so it would be a major rewrite to get it to work. I'll just have to drive the HD44780 directly from the GPIO. Pity really as the MCP23008 setting very nearly works. I'll leave this FR hanging about for a while just in case anyone else is interested. |

I have a number of LCD character displays fitted with HobbyComponents Smart LCD 'backpacks' to provide an I2C interface. The backpack uses a STMicroelectronics STM8S003F3 SoC - not currently an option in rAudio. Is it a simple thing to add, or am I better off just using GPIO?
