Exclude tabs (or selectable folders) from the “Duplicates” search

I use Floccus to sync both my tabs and my bookmarks from several devices and Firefox Profiles (mostly to have a Firefox Profile for each Plasma Activity).

As a consequence, Nextcloud Bookmarks finds a lot of “duplicates” – every bookmark that I also opened in a tab counts as a duplicate. Which is super-annoying when trying to clean up duplicates

It would be great to be able to exclude specific folders from the “Duplicates” search.

Describe alternatives you've considered

I could stop syncing tabs to Nextcloud Bookmarks – but makes it much less useful than it is right now to me, as I have it set up in a way that it can replace Firefox Sync.

causes problems. You have made the right choice to come here and open an issue to make sure your problem gets looked at
and if possible solved.
I'm Marcel and have been maintaining this software the last few years. I currently work for Nextcloud but maintain this app
in my free time, because it is not an official Nextcloud product. My day job at Nextcloud is pretty awesome but sadly leaves me with
less time for side projects like this one than I used to have.
I still try to answer all issues and if possible fix all bugs here, but it sometimes takes a while until I get to it.
Until then, please be patient.
Note also that GitHub is a place where people meet to make software better together. Nobody here is under any obligation
to help you, solve your problems or deliver on any expectations or demands you may have, but if enough people come together we can
collaborate to make this software better. For everyone.
Thus, if you can, you could also look at other issues to see whether you can help other people with your knowledge
and experience. If you have coding experience it would also be awesome if you could step up to dive into the code and
try to fix the odd bug yourself. Everyone will be thankful for extra helping hands!
One last word: If you feel, at any point, like you need to vent, this is not the place for it; you can go to the forum,
to twitter or somewhere else. But this is a technical issue tracker, so please make sure to
focus on the tech and keep your opinions to yourself. (Also see our Code of Conduct. Really.)

thank you for taking the time to open this issue to provide feedback. I appreciate it!
Indeed, when syncing tabs and bookmarks via nextcloud bookmarks with floccus, the duplicates feature becomes less useful. I will have to think about how to best tackle this for a bit, but I cannot promise anything.
As a workaround, since you already have nextcloud, you could sync your tabs via WebDAV using Nextcloud files. This way the tabs do not pollute your bookmarks collection

Thank you for finding the time to look at this. I realise this is your pet project. As mentioned, this is currently not a pain point for me, so unless someone else pops up with this issue, feel free to put it way to the back of the priority list.

My work-around currently is to sync just bookmarks and then have a specific folder (e.g. “temporary move folder”) where I store pages as bookmarks to that I would like to open in a different browser/profile/device. This adds an additional step in the workflow, but seems to work fine so far. Cleaner too in a way.

(I’m slowly thinking that TST/Sideberry + FF Sync helped instead of prevented me to gather hundreds of tabs, so I’m trying to flip my workflow to something leaner now.)
