[CoE Starter Kit - BUG] Last Launched Date not populating

Describe the issue

It appears that we are not getting the Last Launched Date for any Apps to populate in our environment. I believe this has been happening for a long time, however it was recently noticed in our data. These metrics are used by NASA to help make strategic decisions so any direction on solving this would be very welcomed!

Here is a screenshot of the missing data:

I went and did some digging into the flows and I see a few times where the flows are writing to the Inventory Table (Power Apps App) but it appears that the App Last Launched On Date is not being populated in the flows (at least the ones I looked at)

I realize there is probably not a quick fix for this, so if you can direct me to what would go in these fields I can at least add an unmanaged layer to this with flow with the correct selection until you can push out an update to the toolkit.

I did grab your most recent solution (at least I think I did, I clicked on the link and it downloaded the December version) and installed that in our dev environment, and it is still not populating that information for the Last Launched Date.

Any thoughts here would be very welecomed!

Thank you for raising this issue and providing detailed information.

This behavior is currently expected by design. The "App Last Launched On" column in the Admin View app relies on telemetry data collected via Power Platform’s inventory and telemetry flows. Unfortunately, as of now, Microsoft’s underlying platform does not emit launch events for model-driven apps in the same way it does for canvas apps. As a result, the column remains empty for model-driven apps.
This is the expected behavior, model-driven app launch activity is not currently tracked by the Power Platform Admin connectors and telemetry pipelines used by the CoE Starter Kit.
At this time, there is no supported workaround to capture “last launched” data for model-driven apps via the CoE Starter Kit. This limitation stems from the data made available by the platform itself.
The product team is aware of this limitation. If and when Microsoft makes model-driven app launch telemetry available via connectors or APIs, the CoE Starter Kit will aim to incorporate this data into future releases.

Good morning @mohamrizwa! Thanks for this information, this definitely helps but it doesn't explain a few things still then for other missing data for this.

You mentioned MDAs are not captured, but what about Canvas Apps? Additionally, we were getting this data for a lot of our Canvas Apps before. The screenshot above is for the development environment, but in our production environment, we have many apps that were reporting this data before and then stopped when we updated the COE Toolkit in August.

Are we saying that this isn't going to work for any of the Apps or just MDAs. If so, then I still think we have an issue with our Canvas Apps not capturing that data properly.
