Description
Continuous Ground Monitoring provides AC detection at all times and can be used to determine AC zero crossing.
To reduce arching and improve relay wear the EVSE should never open the relay under load unless there is a panic condition such as GFCI.
Proposal 1 - add additionally checks to keep the relay closed if current is detected.
Arching can be further reduced by opening and closing contacts at zero crossing.
Proposal 2 - use CGMI chip to determine AC zero crossing.
The stuck relay AC detect can be used to learn the speed of the relay by storing the difference of when relay actuation is commanded and when detection occurs on the AC detect channel.
Proposal 3 - use Stuck relay channel to tune open close.
Proposal 4- RAPI commands to enable/disable and see status.
