Great suggestion. This would help a lot for the awkward period between tagged releases.

At the moment, #54 would need to be resolved first which itself is blocked and requires some changes under the hood to be done.

it would also be nice to be able to pick any branch
for example right now there is a new gnome48 branch with new colors
