Invalid character in font name

Having an asterisk (U+002A) in the name of the font ("Drafting* Mono") makes it unusable in Emacs ("Invalid font name") and in application using X11 logical font descriptions[1]. The '*' character is explicitely not allowed (the same way as '?', '-', ',' and '"').
