My auto-generated .gitpod.yml contains just "{}"

Steps to reproduce:

1. Create new (empty) GitHub project
2. Open in Gitpod
3. Accept the notification for the setup
4. The wizard opens in a preview, but nothing else happens
5. Click on (1) to generate a .gitpod.yml
6. The generated .gitpod.yml seems broken
