Description
This would allow us to still display the classic point at the centroid of the fit to the FISH signal, by offsetting the text of the explanatory code(s) for a discard of a spot to one side of the point. This should most likely be above or below the point, so as to minimally distort the notion of where the center of the point is found. Furthermore, this would be better for cases where there are multiple discard reasons, as in this case the text will be longer/wider than it is tall.
The offset direction should consider where the center of the point is positioned relative to the image bounds. This would be so that the text does not go off the edge of the image, either above or below. Specifically, if the center of the point is within some threshold of the top of the image, then the text should be offset to be below the image. Symmetrically, if the point is near the bottom of the image, then the text should be situated above the point.
