(online) becomes (offline) shortly after joining

Connection stays fine to the user, and the collaborative editing works, however users become offline shortly after joining, never to come online again, even when you can see the changes that they are making. 

This is just a visual bug to the user and in the current repo, but could give inaccurate data to any functions that one might add on to the repo.
