Exclude open bookmarks when interactively loading a new one

I've accumulated a lot of bufferlo bookmarks, many open, many not. It would be great to either highlight the open ones (completing-read does allow propertized strings) or exclude them from the list. There are other commands to deal with open bookmarks.
