Cached Map Data

Depending on the location of usage, caching the map data would be great if the internet is slow, or if there is no internet after a period.

In order for this to work, it would need:

• Reverse proxy for the map requests
• Caching on the server side

Thanks for the idea. Yes, this is envisioned. We can directly download the vector maptiles from swisstopo and embed them in the backend. Hence, no live request towards swisstopo is required. We are currently reworking the backend which would us allow to do that. Furthermore, we will also create a background job which updates the tiles periodically if internet connection is working.

I'd rather not work-around with reverse proxy and cache configuration at the moment as it also requires matching source configurations for the map sytles.

I'll adjust this issue to reflect the current preferred approach of serving the map tiles.
