How accurate/reliable is this library?

Thanks for publishing this! Do you have any observations on how reliable this library is?

Meaning, does it detect meetings with 100% reliability for a given app (eg, Google Meet), or can some get missed or generate false positives?

Also, does it only use RTC detection, or does it look at secondary signals like running processes?

From the README:

• Monitoring the rate of incoming/outgoing UDP packets from your machine's IP address.
• Checking the source/destination address against known network blocks for the major voice/video conference providers.

There is no process monitoring that takes place. Only packet rate and network address range checks. A provider can add/remove an address block at any time so I wouldn't say it's 100% reliable. A nice feature to add would be the addition of a 'Did not detect call' button which would record the addresses on your machine with UDP traffic so you could update the address lists.

Ah sorry, missed that. Does this require special permissions to monitor the network? Like for example on OSX do you know what the additional permissions the user has to grant?

Yes the process requires elevated permissions in order to monitor network traffic on the host machine. I've only tested the application on Windows before moving on to another project, but PRs are welcome if you get it running on other OSes.
