Request: aarch64-pc-windows-msvc

Rust recently promoted aarch64-pc-windows-msvc to tier 1.

Can we please get built-in support for this target?

This would be very helpful, I use cross for all other platforms and lack of support for this platform is a major issue.

Don't hold your breath. Rust, cross, and the cross toolchain images are stuck years behind. There hasn't been a release of cross in multiple years.

For more comprehensive crossplatform support, recommend Go, factorio, and xgo. Or C/C++, cmake, and custom Docker toolchains.

One Rustacean alternative involves setting up dedicated VMs for each specific target. I used to do this with Vagrant and Packer. The overhead is not fun, but it does work. For absolutely maximum results, target a native (GNU) Linux host, and the qemu/libvirt hypervisor.

We are not going to publish this as an image as it contains software we are not allowed under it's license to share or publish.

Apple, Microsoft, Oracle, and others use ridiculous EULAs that actively harm their own userbases, by introducing byzantine barriers to support their fringe ecosystems.

However, there are likely practical, workarounds in many cases.

Who can point to an image on Docker Hub for the Windows aarch64 MSVC image?
