Rudramadevi never succeeds her father Ganpatideva

The historical Rudrama-devi succeeded her father Ganapati-deva as ruler of an area of eastern India corresponding to modern-day Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Crusader Kings 2 seems like it wants to include this, since history/characters/telugu.txt contains both Ganapati-deva (character 189238) and Rudrama-devi (character 189239), and on his death in 1262 Ganapati-deva holds a portion of eastern India (c_balkonda, c_kambampet, c_kollipake, c_medak, c_orangallu, c_racakonda, c_vemulavada and d_warangal) any or all of which Rudrama-devi could inherit.

However, the succession for these provinces is broken: c_balkonda, c_kambampet, c_orangallu and c_vemulavada are passed to the seemingly nonexistent character 74658, while c_kollipake, c_medak and c_racakonda remain in the possession of the corpse of Ganapati-deva until 1289. (d_warangal is passed to character 0 in 1230.) As a result, Ganapati-deva remains present on the map after 1262 as a single-province character who cannot be played (because he's dead) and the game is robbed of a very notable female Indian ruler.

This is a bug in vanilla and CleanSlate 1.0 beta 6.1; I didn't test 6.2 itself, but it doesn't look like any of the relevant files have been altered so I'm willing to assume that it's not fixed.

There are innumerable issues like this throughout CK2. I'm unsure if we want to be opening this particular can of worms to fix every "x, who is in the history files, should hold y but paradox gave it to a fictional character instead" issue. Each individual title and character can take hours of research and cross-referencing to fix.

Ahh I misread. Didn't notice the "passed to non-existent character" part. That's a bit different. I'll take a look.

Interesting. 74658 isn't a non-existent character. Seems to be a "Mahadeva" who owns several other titles as well. I'll have to do some testing as to why the title isn't getting passed like it should according to the history files before I look at addressing who the holder should be. To clarify, this is happening with CleanSlate enabled and no other mods?

Okay, Mahadeva was a king of Seuna Yadava who took advantage of the weakened state of the Kakatiya kingdom after Ganapatideva's death, so taking over a handful of provinces makes sense and the province-level bug is simply c_kollipake, c_medak and c_racakonda missing an entry to transfer them to Rudramadevi in 1262.

That just leaves d_warangal, which looks like a "hours of research and cross-referencing" problem—in the vanilla game Ganapatideva becomes independent of Maharashtra in 1230 because the duchy of Warangal ceases to exist, so he's an independent count. Something is incorrect here but I'm not going to dig into it further. Maybe a Youtuber with an interest in medieval India will come along to explain why the game is wrong this time.
