App Runner in pure maintenance mode or even dead?

2024 gave us monthly runtime updates and only 2 updates actually implementing something
2023 gave us 17 functional updates

Among the worst is the dotnet runtime update in december, promoting the latest dotnet 6 one month after the whole dotnet 6 is EOL, and not a single word about dotnet 8 support

Http2 support been in the backlog for so long that http3 has been requested

The frustration on #14 is very telling on the whole status of this product, and all of AWS currently, with little updates, feedback and return to the customers

Quite sad. AWS is definitely falling behind on containers-as-a-service when compared to Azure Container Apps and Cloud Run.

It obviously lost priority as there was a ton of features being added and then it stopped abruptly.

For me, AppRunner hits a sweet spot in terms of complexity vs. functionality. I have ~8 services deployed in production and would hate to see it become abandoned. Frankly, I can't see why they aren't pushing it more?

Exactly, a very good alternative and competition to the GCP Cloud Run
