ConfigurableFirmata support? #147

Thank you for a great library!
I was wondering if you have any plans to write a ConfigurableFirmata implementation of your firmware. Working on a project at the moment where I will need to control both LED-strips and Steppers, and it would be so nice to keep it all within the confines of one Arduino.
I know you recommend using the I2C backpack-method, and I guess that the flexible nature of the ConfigurabeFirmatas file size might speak against it, but just wanted to check the possibility with you anyways.
Would also be cool to potentially be able to have even more space for LEDs in the memory by configuring a stripped down custom Firmata build.
