Problem while exporting data from DB in MS Office Excel 2010 using spreadsheet gem

Excel sheet is getting open in "Protected View" because of which loss of data in the file. After 167 columns excel sheet not shows remaining columns. It is working fine with IBM Lotus, Open office. There are options related to disable "Protected View" in MS office excel but it won't help. Is there any option to disable "Protective View" from spreadsheet gem OR any other option to resolve this problem?
