Presence on pypi makes things a little bit more convenient/discoverable for users, that’s all. DrawBot also suggests this kind of ad-hoc pip installation: https://github.com/typemytype/drawbot/tree/master#install

Maybe a simple README.md change might do it.

However, if you want to go the “official” route, it’s only a few more steps. Most of the work has already done with creating the setup.py file. As far as I can tell, you are just missing numbers 6 and 7 of this guide here:
