Description
The BlockTriangularizationInitializer landed in the IDAES repo and became the general default initialization method without deep understanding of what it did, what its strengths are, and what its weaknesses are. The documentation page is decent, but it doesn't give much insight about why block triangularization is unsuitable for "counter-current flow" and "vapor-liquid equilibrium". (I assume "column models" are also named due to them featuring counter current flow.) Additionally, there's no hint that block triangularization is completely unsuited to the cubic complementarity VLE.
A tutorial explaining what block triangularization is, which system structures it is suitable to solving, and why counter current flows and VLE are challenging may be useful.
