Hello, since the latest update to version: 4.0.4 the following error occurs:

/wp-content/plugins/wp-scss/cache/
"File Permission Error, permission denied. Please make the cache directory writable.".

Even after changing the "Cache" folder to the permissions "rwx rwx rwx" or "777" this error persists and leaves an unsightly banner directly on the website.

I hope this error can be fixed quickly, because this way I have to go back or stay on version 4.0.2 for now, because even after the actual setting or solving the error it persists and I don't know why.

Have you checked your ownership of the folder? and 775 should be sufficient as well.

It generally isn't an issue with the plugin.

Often you need to view it via SSH.

unfortunately i don't have that it is only a webspace, but i think so, because before, with version 4.0.2 it also worked

The update might've changed it, and sometimes it can happen. Its an easy fix via SSH. Even if there was a patch in the plugin to update it, it would still need intervention.

The authorisations are set correctly. Which owner/group is using the plugin? It has to use the one from your webspace and no other. This would then not be possible and cannot be customised.

I am confused as to what the hoster is even saying.

What type of hosting is it? cPanel? Plesk? CWP?

It is a Webspace with Plesk and Yes the Cache exists

They also said the following beforehand, to which I replied that it still didn't work:

We have reset the permissions again and also implemented this for the recursive directory structures. The permissions should now be set sufficiently. Please test it again.

I had the same issue after updating, just went into plugin settings and hit save and it fixed

Also, I cannot do any SCSS changes anymore (probably due to the last error) since 4.0.4. I had to revert back to 4.0.2 which is working flawlessly.

Your plugin should take care of the permissions (it's 0644 by default in our setup). We're running the plugin on several hundreds of websites and we cannot change the permissions manually for all of this.
