UI Crazy Slow on large monitor since Nodes 2.0 update

Prerequisites

• I am running the latest version of ComfyUI
• I have searched existing issues to make sure this isn't a duplicate
• I have tested with all custom nodes disabled (see how)

What happened?

Ever since the Nodes 2.0 release (which I disabled), doing anything in ComfyUI UI is SUPER slow. If I want to drag my workflow, or zoom in, or connect a noodle, it takes 2 seconds for the UI to even respond.

If I resize my window to something smaller, then it becomes snappy and responsive again.

I have a RTX3090 and 128gb of RAM. For my monitor, I do use my 7800x3d integrated graphics with 6gb of dedicated memory, so it doesn't waste VRAM on rendering. But this has never been an issue for the past year.

This is a known issue affecting ComfyUI's frontend performance on large monitors, especially after the Nodes 2.0 update. It's most severe when using Chrome/Chromium (version 142 in particular) with AMD integrated graphics, where GPU usage spikes and UI interactions lag by seconds. The problem is much less pronounced or resolved in Chrome 143+ and in other browsers like Firefox or Edge. Resizing the window smaller or lowering your monitor's refresh rate (to 60/120Hz) can help as a workaround. Make sure hardware acceleration is enabled in your browser—disabling it causes severe lag at high resolutions.

Other settings that may help: lower the "Maximum FPS" in ComfyUI settings, disable DOM element clipping and tooltips, and try toggling the "Modern Node Design (Nodes 2.0)" option. If you have browser extensions, try disabling them, clear your cache, and reset Chrome's font size to Medium.

The maintainers are aware and working on improvements, but for now, the most reliable workaround is to use Firefox, Edge, or Chrome 143+ if possible. More details and user experiences are available in these threads:

I'd also like to note, that in my example, it's a large workflow, but even if I have a workflow with only THREE nodes, it's still super slow, albeit by only 1 second, but it still makes it very difficult to use, and what workflow is that small.
