bring changes from 1.19.4 into candlestick

when we cloned wick editor, we cloned the 1.19.3 version instead of 1.19.4.

migrate the changes made for 1.19.4 and bring them to candlestick

Additional context
the subclip hits() stuff was already brought over, but i don't think anything else was
