🌍 Problem Statement
Millions of people lack easy access to reliable, understandable medical information. Many self-diagnose using unverified sources, leading to anxiety, misinformation, or delayed care. There’s a need for a private, always-available assistant that can help users understand their symptoms, learn about diseases, and know when to seek professional help—using trusted, up-to-date medical resources.
🛠️ Your Solution
We built an AI Medical Symptom & Disease Assistant by customizing the Azure AI Chat RAG template.
Template Used: Azure AI Chat RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation)
Customizations:
Ingested a curated set of medical PDFs (disease guides, symptom lists, etc.) as the knowledge base.
Updated the system prompt and UI to focus on medical Q&A, always including a medical disclaimer.
Changed the chat endpoint and webapp branding to reflect the medical assistant purpose.
Added prompt suggestions and follow-up logic tailored to health and symptom queries.
Why this approach:
RAG ensures answers are grounded in trusted medical documents, not just model guesses.
The solution is private, scalable, and can be extended with more medical data or languages.
